OK, so yesterday I went for a family walk. I promised myself that I would at least get moving this weekend. It was only about 3/4 of a mile, but hey I weight almost 300 pounds! So this morning I woke up around 6 and I just said to myself, "Self (that is what I call me, Ha-Ha) NO MORE EXCUSES, get your butt up and get moving." I got dressed and went outside and did day one of "couch to 5k". I have never ran, unless I was being chased, in my adult life. Things were going so well. Whenever I felt like I had no energy to do the next jog, I just reminded myself that I cannot continue to give every excuse on why I cannot do something and JUST DO IT!
OK, so I was on my cool down after my 3 mile walk/job when I ran into one of my neighbors out walking. I said, "Good Morning" and she said, "So you are out for a walk this morning?" At this point I really should of just looked at her and said, "No, I am sleeping, DUH!" I informed her that I just finished my first intentional jog of my life. I was so proud of myself and I guess I was kind of looking for an at-a-boy. My pride balloon was so full until she brought out her huge needle and popped it by saying this...are you ready for this..."You know you should never run, it is bad for your knees. Whether you are overweight or not it is not good for a woman to run." OK, so are you thinking what I was...WHAT THE HECK!!! All I wanted was, good job lard a$$. As long as you are moving then you are doing something, right. Oh no!
Why can't people just be supportive?
