Ok, so here it goes. Am I the only one that hates it when people here of you going through something and they start off their advice like this..."Well if I were you...I would..." It drives me batty. You are not me. You have never been exactly where I am. You have never lived in my house with my kids and my husband. You have never worked for my boss of driven my car or paid my bills. How can people continue to push their agenda on what they think is best for you? Is it really so hard for people just to say, "Honey, I have been through something similar, and I just need you to know that I will be here to help you in any way I can, no matter what!" Would that not be simple enough? Can we not just be present for our friends and family? Just be there to listen when they need us to, or keep the children when needed. There are so many things that we could do in trying times, but some of don't. We just have this boiling passion to interject ourselves into the situation no matter what. What is wrong with us, that we just cannot be still! Just be there when we are needed. And even still, when we are in need people say, "just let me know if you need anything." Do we ever actually let them know that the grass needs mowing or the kids are driving me crazy? I know that I don't. I have this horrible sense of guilt. I should be able to do it all. God made me a strong woman and I know that I can do it all by myself, right? So what do you think?
